Junior Cricket
Junior cricket is back for 2024!
Junior cricket returned to Little Bardfield in 2022 with an intended six week summer programme of cricket sessions for 8-12 year olds. We were positively overwhelmed with the interest so we ran through the whole summer and have never looked back!
This year we are introducing a new older age group to make sure that getting too old for the current offer have something to move on to. Thanks to some incredibly generous local donations we have been able to install a brand new artificial cricket wicket which will allow this this older age group to practice with real cricket balls. All necessary safety equipment is provided but juniors are also welcome to bring their own.
Both age groups will take place on Tuesday evenings and the bar will remain open throughout. See below for further details of our two junior age group sessions.
As our junior offers grow we need to find more people that are wiling to help. If you are interested in helping us deliver, or organise, the junior cricket opportunities, please let us know (either at a session you can contact us through the website here).
Everything you need to know
The Basics
Location: Little Bardfield Village Cricket Club
Days: Tuesday evenings from 14th May - 7th August 2024
Under 12s:
Time: 6.00 - 7.00pm
Age: 8-11 years old
Cost: £30 for the whole summer (which works out as £1.87 a session if you come to them all!)
Under 15s:
Time: 6.00 - 7.30pm
Age: 12-15 years old
Cost: £45 for the whole summer (which works out as £2.81 a session if you come to them all!)
Costs and Discounts
We have had to increase our costs this year as the last two years have been offered at significant expense to the club which of course is not sustainable. We think these costs still offer great value and less than half the cost of other local club junior offers, with more sessions offered! If cost is a barrier to your child taking part then please still contact us and we can discuss alternatives.
Every child's first session is offered for free! The last thing we want is for you to pay for the whole summer and your child(ren) decides its not for them, so we offer every child's first session for free to make sure it's something they want to stick with.
We also offer a 25% off siblings discount. This means that if you have more than one child attending either age group then there will be a 25% reduction in their costs. The discount will apply to the lower amount and will only apply after one fully paid sibling.
Additional information for parents / guardians
- All parents/guardians will need to complete a permission form upon arrival at their child's first session.
- Parents/guardians/family members are welcome to stay throughout the session, or to leave their children and collect at the end of the session.
- If your child has any special requirements please speak with the coach at the start of their first session to make sure they are aware.
What Juniors should bring with them
- No equipment necessary
- All children must wear appropriate clothing and footwear for being active!
- The bar will be open with refreshments on sale, but attendees are welcome to bring their own water bottle to stay hydrated!
